Effective 16 July 2026
In short: the schedule and pay information you enter stays on your phone. The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which uses limited device data to display them. You can remove ads with a one-time purchase, and there is no ShiftAl account or server holding your data.
Your shifts, wake-up alarms, pay settings, crew comparisons, currency, themes and every other entry are stored only on your device. ShiftAl has no user accounts and no server of ours that receives this information, so we cannot see it and neither can anyone else.
If you use ShiftAl for free, it shows ads through Google AdMob. To choose and display those ads, Google may process your device advertising identifier along with limited technical and usage data, as described in Google's privacy and terms. On iPhone and iPad, ShiftAl asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency before any tracking, and you can decline. Where required, ads are limited to non-personalized.
The one-time in-app purchase called "Remove ads forever" turns ads off for good. Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play and confirmed through our billing provider, RevenueCat. We receive only whether an ad-free purchase is active, not your name or payment card details.
If you allow notifications, ShiftAl schedules wake-up alarms and reminders locally on your phone. Their content never leaves your device.
You can export your data as a backup file at any time. That file is created on your device and shared only where you choose to send it. You stay in full control of it.
When you share your schedule with a workmate, your upcoming shifts are encoded directly inside the link or QR code you create. The data reaches only the people you personally give that link to, and it does not pass through any server operated by us.
Aside from the advertising and purchase services described above, ShiftAl does not sell or share your personal data. It has no other analytics and no data brokers.
ShiftAl is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date.
